USB-PD is a fast chargingspecification developed by the USB-IF organization. It is one of the mainstreamfast charging protocols at present. The USB-PD fast charging protocol is outputthrough the Type-C interface, but it cannot be said that the typeC interfacenecessarily supports the fast charging of USB-PD protocol.
USD PD fast charging protocol can increasethe transmission of power through USB cable and connector, expand the powersupply capability of cable bus in USB applications, so as to achieve thepurpose of increasing the charging voltage or current, and can freely changethe direction of power transmission. Type-c interface supports a maximum of 15Wby default (5V/3A), but after the implementation of the USB-PD protocol, themaximum output power can be supported up to 100W (20V/5A), so now manypractical Type-C interface devices will support the USB PD protocol.
The RELATIONSHIP between USBPDprotocol and the fast charging protocol of other manufacturers is not equal, but the relationship of inclusion and inclusion. In the PPS (Fast ChargingTechnical Specification) released by USB-IF, USB pd 3.0 protocol alreadyincludes Qualcomm QC 3.0 and 4.0, Huawei SCP and FCP, MTK PE3.0 and PE2.0, andOPPO VOOC.
